While I was in St. Petersburg to do studies and take pictures of the beautiful St. Petersburg skyline for the 2014 Mainsail Poster image, my husband and I went to a fun little restaurant on the water.  It overlooked the St. Petersburg Marina. All of a sudden this image started to develop before our eyes. The water became very still and glassy. I  proceeded to take hundreds of pictures of the scene. I knew I had to paint it. It was such a wonderful experience spending so much time on this image, being in this painting. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed painting it!
