This view is from Bayshore Drive in Coconut Grove of Dinner Key the site of the coconut Grove Art Festival. For a few minutes each year when I did that show I would escape to this peaceful site. I knew I would eventually paint it.
In order to create a composition with a 180 degrees perspective I usually take up to 500 photos of the area. From those I cut and paste to make the desired composition from which to paint. These photos were taken early in the morning right after the sun came up, setting the stage for a very still tranquil painting.
